Women in film accelerate with Audi and AFI.
Audi of America has started the ignition on one of our most innovative and ambitious initiatives yet: #DriveProgress, designed to create development and mentoring opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.
For us, that means working across industries and age groups to help ensure that everyone has a fair shot. That’s why we feel it is important to provide meaningful opportunities in arts and film as well as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and to recognize female philanthropists tackling difficult social issues.

We first decided to take on the arts and film school through our longtime collaboration with the American Film Institute. For the past 14 years, we’ve worked with AFI as its official AFI FEST automotive sponsor, which has given us an up-close look at the new talent making large and small films out of Hollywood. Over that time, we saw how we could make a big impact on helping women gain visibility in the film industry while helping them remove barriers to equity, inclusivity, growth and development.
To make those numbers more inclusive, #DriveProgress provides one promising female director with an entire two-year AFI Conservatory enrollment, one of the most respected filmmaker training programs in the world. Natalie Camou—a director who possesses exceptional talent, ingenuity and creativity—was announced as the first member of the Audi Fellowship Program. We look forward to nurturing the next generation of female storytellers through this support for a student with passion and drive.
And this is just the start. #DriveProgress will be investing in more programs and scholarships over the next several years.
