2018 Audi A3 Safety

Structural engineering

To help protect you and your passengers in the event of an emergency, our chassis engineers designed the Audi A3 to absorb the energy of impact and remain rigid where it’s most needed.

To help protect you in many ways, the Audi A3 comes equipped with multiple airbags.[1] Driver and front passenger advanced airbags[1] highlight a suite of eight standard airbags to help in the event of an unforeseen event.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

This is both a safety and a performance-enhancing feature. Communicating with the quattro® all-wheel drive system, ESC can detect a loss of traction and can apply braking input to help prevent excessive body motion or slip. ESC also helps you maintain your intended line through a corner with intelligent torque vectoring, and it allows for spirited driving before assisting.[2]

All Audi A3 models are equipped with a sophisticated Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) and brake assist that helps prevent wheel lock-up to help you brake and steer to help avoid an incident.
