2018 Audi A4 Safety

Structural engineering

To help protect you and your passengers in the event of an emergency, our chassis engineers designed the Audi A4 and A4 allroad® to both absorb the energy of impact and also remain rigid where it’s most needed.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is both a safety and a performance-enhancing feature. Networked with the quattro® all-wheel drive system, ESC helps detect a loss of traction and will apply braking input to help prevent excessive body motion or slip, and it can adjust to driving conditions. ESC also helps you maintain your intended line through a corner with intelligent torque vectoring.[2] The Audi A4 allroad® features ESC with Offroad mode[3] for more rugged applications.

All Audi A4 models come standard with a sophisticated anti-lock braking (ABS) system that helps prevent wheel lock-up so you can brake and steer to avoid an incident. As a safety feature, ABS can help prevent accidents. The ABS system in the Audi A4 is integrated with the vehicle’s other driver assistance systems and work together to help enhance safety.

To help protect you in many ways, the Audi A4 and A4 allroad® come equipped with multiple airbags.[1] Driver adaptive and front-passenger dual-stage airbags highlight an available suite of up to ten airbags to help in the event of an unforeseen event.
Every Audi A4 and A4 allroad® comes standard with a host of safety features.
