Seven-speed S tronic® dual-clutch automatic transmission

The new available S tronic transmission uses two internal clutches to change gears in just a few hundredths of a second. With seven gears, it’s easy to stay in the powerband or maintain relaxed cruising speeds.

For those who prefer to DIY, the six-speed manual offers smooth, positive gear selection, leaving you in complete command of engine and vehicle speed.

Available adaptive damping suspension

Sophisticated electromagnetically controlled dampers use sensors to measure lateral and longitudinal movements at all four wheels. Damping force and ride quality are controlled automatically or through Audi drive select settings to suit driver preference.
Available Sport plus package
Available on vehicles equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and Premium plus, the Sport plus package includes 18-inch Audi Sport® 5-double-spoke-star design wheels, a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, dynamic steering, Brushed Aluminum interior inlays, stainless steel pedal caps and an S line® interior with leather and Alcantara® and contrast stitching.

Audi drive select—Auto
Auto mode provides a balanced engine and chassis response.
Audi drive select—Comfort
Comfort mode favors a softer suspension[3], and boosted steering power assistance that is designed for long-distance travel.
Audi drive select—Dynamic
Dynamic mode provides engine and chassis settings for performance driving conditions.[2] The suspension[3] is optimized for handling and body control, the steering is heavier for a more direct feel and the shift pattern is tuned for immediate response.

Eight-speed Tiptronic® automatic transmission

Developed to harness the power of the 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque of the turbocharged V6 in the S5, the eight-speed Tiptronic® automatic transmission offers quick acceleration from the go and relaxed cruising at highway speeds.[2]

Dynamic steering

Optional on the S5, dynamic steering offers a variable ratio that can adjust according to vehicle speeds and Audi drive select mode. By changing the steering ratio, dynamic steering can help improve straight-line stability at highway speeds and improve steering precision through the corners.[2]

Sport adaptive damping suspension

Available electromagnetically controlled Sporttuned dampers helps adaptively control the S5 chassis response and ride quality.[2]
