2018 Audi A6 Safety

With eight standard airbags, and two available, the Audi A6 offers additional protection in the event of a collision. Front-impact airbags for both driver and front passenger are designed to specifically help protect the head during collisions, and for added protection, our airbags are designed to work in concert with our safety belts and properly adjusted head restraints.[1]

Structural engineering

To protect you and your passengers in the event of an emergency, our chassis engineers designed the Audi A6 to both absorb the energy of impact and also remain rigid where it’s most needed.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is both a safety and a performance-enhancing feature. Networked with the available quattro® all-wheel drive system, ESC detects a loss of traction and will apply braking input to help prevent excessive body motion or slip. ESC also helps you maintain your intended line through a corner with intelligent torque vectoring, and allows for spirited driving before assisting.[2]

All A6 models come standard with a sophisticated anti-lock braking system (ABS) that helps prevent wheel lock-up so you can brake and steer to avoid an incident. As a safety feature, ABS can help prevent accidents. The ABS system in the Audi A6 is integrated with the vehicle’s other driver assistance systems that work together to help enhance safety.
