Supercharged to see how you’ll respond.

Power. How will you use it? The 333 hp 3.0-liter TFSI® V6 engine powering the Audi A8 L 3.0T is supercharged to help increase airflow into the combustion chambers. And variable intake and exhaust timing helps get the most out of the air and fuel. The result is a broad range of power and torque plus quick reactions to your throttle input.[1]

Two turbos propel you past the third dimension.
Beyond length, width and height is the fourth dimension: time. With 450 hp and 444 lb-ft of torque, you may approach that fourth dimension sooner than usual. Equipped with an Audi adaptive air suspension for both comfort and control and an eight-speed Tiptronic® transmission for smooth, intuitive response to your demands, you’ll find the Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport can make short work of long stretches.
4.0-liter TFSI® turbocharged V8 engine
We placed the turbochargers within the “V” of the 4.0-liter V8 to create a shorter route for the air to enter the intake manifold, helping reduce turbo lag and improving throttle response. Continuously variable intake and exhaust camshafts adjust to the demands of the driving situation.

Audi drive select—Comfort mode

Comfort mode favors a softer suspension and boosted steering power assistance that is ideal for long-distance travel.
Audi drive select—Auto mode
Auto mode provides the most balanced engine and chassis response.
Audi drive select—Dynamic mode
Dynamic mode provides the best engine and chassis settings for performance driving conditions. The suspension is optimized for handling and body control, the steering is heavier for a more direct feel and the transmission shift program is tuned for immediate response.

2018 Audi S8 plus

With 605 hp, the balance of power can shift in your favor.

There has never been an Audi S8 as powerful as the S8 plus.[1] Its 605 hp rating even surpasses competitors with larger engines. By tuning the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter TFSI® V8 to new heights, we helped ensure its status as the major power broker.

4.0-liter TFSI® turbocharged V8 engine
The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter TFSI® V8 utilizes direct injection technology and continuously variable intake and exhaust camshaft adjustments to create power. An overboost function can increase torque from 517 lb-ft to 553 lb-ft when Audi drive select is in the Dynamic mode.

Sport-tuned Audi adaptive air suspension

The innovative Audi adaptive air suspension has been retuned to suit the elevated performance of the Audi S8 plus. The settings of the air springs and dampers are firmer to help deliver a higher level of handling and control.

Audi dynamic steering

The standard dynamic steering system offers a variable ratio that adjusts according to vehicle speeds and Audi drive select mode. By changing the steering ratio, dynamic steering can improve straight-line stability at highway speeds and improve steering precision through the corners.[1]
