2018 Audi A8 Safety
ASF® aluminum construction
The Audi A8 is made from a high-strength and lightweight aluminum structure known as the Audi Space Frame principle or ASF®. Advanced engineering created a structure that is exceptionally rigid to help protect occupants in the event of an impact.
The Audi A8 features up to 8 airbags.[1,2] They include driver and front seat passenger advanced dual-stage airbags, driver and front seat passenger seat-mounted side thorax airbag supplemental restraints as well as driver and front seat passenger knee airbags.
Every Audi A8 comes standard with a host of safety features.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is both a safety and performance-enhancing feature. Networked with the quattro® all-wheel drive system, ESC detects a loss of traction and will apply braking input to help prevent excessive body motion or slip. ESC also helps you maintain your intended line through a corner with intelligent torque vectoring, and it allows for spirited driving before assisting.
All Audi A8 models come standard with a sophisticated anti-lock braking system (ABS) that helps prevent wheel lock-up so you can brake and steer to avoid an incident. As the first driver assistance safety feature, ABS has helped prevent millions of accidents. The ABS system in the Audi A8 is fully integrated with the vehicle’s network of driver assistance systems, and they work together to enhance safety.
