2018 Audi RS 5 Chassis

FEEL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WILLING AND ABLE.
While the specs on some sports coupes look good on paper, the proof comes from the drive. Audi Sport® chassis engineers carefully calibrated the settings on the revised five-link front and rear suspension systems and fitted standard 19" wheels or available 20" wheels to expand its footprint and get a handle on the turns. By applying our on-track knowledge to the Audi RS 5, you can experience the benefits of our lateral thinking.[1]

Available dynamic steering

An optional feature on the Audi RS 5, dynamic steering offers a variable ratio that can adjust according to vehicle speeds and Audi drive select mode. By changing the steering ratio, dynamic steering can help improve straight-line stability at highway speeds and improve steering precision through the corners.

Six-piston brake calipers and available Audi ceramic brakes

Lighter than conventional steel brake discs to help reduce unsprung weight, the available Audi ceramic front brake discs are made from an advanced ceramic compound that can withstand high temperatures and resist brake fade better than steel discs. The ceramic front discs are paired with six-piston brake calipers for confidence-inspiring stopping power.

Audi drive select—Comfort mode

Comfort mode favors a softer suspension[2] and boosted power steering assistance that is ideal for long-distance travel.
Audi drive select—Auto mode
Auto mode provides the most balanced engine and chassis response.
Audi drive select—Dynamic mode
Dynamic mode provides the best engine and chassis settings for performance driving.[1] The suspension[1] is optimized for handling and body control, the steering is heavier for a more direct feel and the standard sport rear differential helps apply the power. An initial rear power bias helps deliver torque where you need it, thanks to Audi quattro®.

Dynamic package

Featuring a RS suspension with DRC® (Dynamic Ride Control) tuned for higher levels of handling performance,[2] the Dynamic package also includes an RS sport exhaust system with Black tips and Red brake calipers featuring the RS logo.

Dynamic plus package

The Dynamic plus package includes the features of the Dynamic package and increases the vehicle’s top-speed limiter from 155 mph to 174 mph.[3] Audi ceramic front brake discs replace the standard front brakes, and the front and rear brake calipers are finished in Anthracite Gray. A tire pressure monitoring system helps keep you informed of tire pressures. And under the hood is a Carbon engine cover for an extra touch of motorsport styling. A tire pressure monitoring system is also included.
